Los Angeles County Superior Court filed on behalf of Defendant improperly performed services in the post-production work performed on a feature film and subsequently attempted to gain ownership of the film elements. Obtained a verdict of $955,000. Defendants appealed but subsequently settled.

Doe Development Owners

United States District Court filed on behalf of owners of commercial development  damaged by various defendants' failure to comply with the terms of multiple agreements and subsequent representations. Obtained a confidential settlement in excess of $4,500,000.

Scott v. Snell

Sacramento Superior Court (Class Action) filed on behalf of shareholders seeking to recover damages for defendants’ failure to pay fair consideration to the minority shareholders in connection with a going private transaction. The case was settled in 2005 for $1.25 million – representing nearly a 100% increase in the amount paid to the shareholders at the time of the merger.

Gateway State Bank v. Scapinito

Defendants fraudulently conveyed real property which was secured by a first deed of trust held by plaintiff bank. Obtained a judgment in excess of $2,500,000.

California Province of the Society of Jesus. v. Doe Movie Director/Developer

The firm defended a documentary film developer/director in a suit over rights and title to creative research materials prepared to obtain grant funding for a documentary film on the life of a Father Junipero Serra. A favorable settlement was obtained that included terms allowing our client to continue with the development and production of his documentary film.

Investors brought claims against developer for fraud and breach of contract with respect to a real estate development. Obtained a verdict in excess of $900,000.
