Bennett v. Regents of the University of California, (UCLA School of Medicine)
This class action lawsuit alleged that the Willed Body Program of UCLA mishandled the remains of donors who donated their bodies to medical science. The Court certified an injunctive relief class. A settlement ultimately reached with Defendant that prompted the University of California to revamp all willed body programs within the entire UC system, a project supervised by former California governor George Deukmejian.
