This action sought compensatory damages for thousands of victims of fraud and negligent operations of a cemetery. Defendants failed to properly maintain the cemetery, and the dilapidated conditions caused plaintiffs to suffer from severe emotional distress. After extensive litigation, a settlement was reached which provided for monetary compensation to plaintiffs of $16,000,000. Additionally, a fund was established to restore the Cemetery.
